Valentine’s Day is the chance to take a day with that special someone and enjoy quality time that's so often taken for granted. Celebrate with a quiet meal, go dancing, or enjoy a show, there’s plenty of events to make this Valentine’s Day as special as the person you love.
For the perfect date consider Valentines at the Plaza. This holiday celebration features a full menu with a choice between three entrees and a variety of sides. Music by DJ Skyy Jammer will get everyone moving on the dance floor, and photographer John Mark will capture the moment. Attendees are also invited to enter the Sweetheart Spotlight - a fashion show where couples can show off their coordinated fashion sense. First prize receives a one night stay at the Holiday Inn with wine and a gift card to The Riverhouse. Learn more about this all-in-one Valentine celebration on the website for Ray’s Plaza Banquet Center.
KRCU is also hosting a large Valentine’s Day party. They will hold this annual celebration - which also acts as a fundraiser for KRCU - at the Isle Casino. The party includes a buffet dinner with a choice of two entrees, salad, sides, and dessert. There is also an open bar and door prizes. Shades of Soul will provide live music. Register in advance by clicking here. The party takes place February 13 at 6:30 p.m.
If you’re a couple that likes to exercise together try the Cupid Shuffle 5K. This race is $30 for couple, $20 for single. $10 for the fun run, even the kids are welcomed to join. Visit Jacksoncupidshuffle.weebly.com or Subway in Cape Girardeau (on Kingswhighway) for registration. Try a not-so-traditional holiday excursion at the Jackson City Park, February 13 at 8 a.m.
