SEMO District Fair Brings New Entertainment to Grandstand
By Emily Sladek
A tradition that has been alive for more than 150 years will be back at the Arena Park Fairgrounds September 7-14.
The grandstand entertainment is much anticipated every year, bringing names like George Jones, Travis Tritt, and REO Speedwagon, as well as demolition derbies, horse shows, barrel racing, truck and tractor pulls, and the like. This year the SEMO Fair will throw a new act into the Grandstand Entertainment mix along with all of the familiar favorites.
On Monday night of the fair, enjoy an evening of professional motocross with the Freestyle Motocross (FMX) as well as the (BMX) show taking place. The show will feature heart pounding action as the riders leap cars, ramp through the air, and even do backflips mid stunt. The anticipation will mount as the performers soar 70 feet from take off to landing, perform death defying stunts, and land to the roar of their engines and the crowd's relieved by excited applause.
Don't worry that the fair won't accommodate those that aren't interested in the extreme sports too though. You can catch Three Dog Night, The Mavericks, and Lee Brice, as well as the demolition derby, Heartland Idol finals, barrel racing, and truck and tractor pulls that bring many to the fair each night.
This year's fair line up has more than enough for everyone to enjoy. Don't be the one who missed out! For more details on the fair, click here.
