Robins and dandelions are sure signs of spring, but the real kick-off is the St. Patrick’s Day Tournament at Arena Golf in Cape. This putt-putt tournament is a family-friendly event that gets everyone outside to enjoy the warming weather. And there’s plenty of green beer and food to honor St. Pat’s as well.
Bryan Johnson owns Arena Golf with his wife Tyra. While they hold tournaments throughout the summer, the St. Patrick’s Day tournament is a special event as it marks the beginning of the golf season. It’s the nod to spring and a way to invite everyone back out to Arena Golf, “It gets people to come outside and do something different,” said Bryan.
The tournament is a two-person putt-putt. The entry fee includes green beer and Irish food. Cost is $30 per team. Prizes and drawings will be awarded. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in green for the holiday.
Arena Golf offers many activities and events - giving residents a great way to spend their summer. Along with the mini golf course, there’s a driving range, batting cages, a bar area, and a retail golf shop.
Arena Golf also had special incentives every week, including Friday Date Night where it’s buy one, get one half off. Wednesday is ladies’ night, and golfer’s happy hour is held Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m for buy one get one. Bryan says they will also be bringing back movie nights in which patrons can sit out on the driving range and enjoy an outdoor screening. There will also be after-hours glow-in-the-dark putt-putt, and many more special events all summer long.
The St. Patrick’s Day Tournament will be held March 19 at 2 p.m. at Arena Golf in Cape Girardeau. Please call to reserve your spot 573-332-0860.
