Ladies, round up your gently used purses and bags as well as your gentlemen, or get a new one (purse that is!) to donate for the Old Bag Luncheon coming February 1.
In its second year, the Old Bag Luncheon has two goals in mind: have fun and do it for a cause. The cause is the American Heart Association Heart Walk, and the premiere event last year raised $2,400 for the organization. This year hopes to surpass that total. "I got the idea from an event in another state and began planning one for here," Debbie Devers, event organizer said. "It is a fun way to give [to the American Heart Association]."
You can enjoy three different types of soup courtesy of the Cape Elks, Bella Italia's perfectly fresh salad, and desserts from Port Cape and McAllister's Deli. The food will pair nicely with the fun that will ensue.
Admission is simple. Donate a new or gently used purse and $20 to attend the event. Not only do the donated bags get auctioned off, but it is thrilling to see them so excitedly displayed on the arms and shoulders of none other than the men of Capaha Bank. That's right. Ag lenders, branch managers, and the like from the bank will sport the bags while the bidding begins.
In addition to the live auction, there will be a silent auction of gift certificates, a shopping spree and more. Everything from pampering at the spa to exercise to a bed and breakfast will be available for bidding during the silent auction.
Be part of the excitement this year! Presale tickets are available at any Capaha Bank location or at the door the day of the event.
For more information on the event, you can check with any Capaha Bank branch or call (573) 331-7427. You can also find the flyer below.
