Bring your green and step out on the razzle for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, starting at 6pm Monday, March 17th. There will not be an entry fee for participants and the first 425 participants will receive a commemorative pint glass sponsored by local distributors. So gather up the lads and cheers to a night filled with spirits and festivities.
The pub crawl will canvas twelve bars, with proceeds from the event supporting Old Town Cape. The Isle Casino will have two shuttles running to take you to and from the different locations, making travel safe and easy. As the majority of quotes last year were “I don’t remember much, but I know I had a great time!”, we strongly urge the use of the transportation provided during the crawl, a designated driver or public transit for your own safety.
New to this year’s pub crawl is the St. Patty’s King and Queen contest, in which each couple that is preselected by each participating club will choose a charity of their choice to support. Donation boxes will be set up at each club for you to make a donation to your favorite King and Queen. The couple who raised the most money will be crowned King and Queen of the 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. Donations will be collected from each box and will go to the winning couples selected charity. All contestants should be dressed to impress and in full St. Patty’s spirit.
“It’s so great to see so many locals come out and support all the bars and a great way to get everyone out for a fun night of celebration,” said local Megan Kays of last year’s pub crawl. The Mike Renick Band will be returning to Rude Dog Pub this year, Tone Def Allstars will be jamming out at Hotshots, and Old School Hype will be at The Library to provide some entertainment throughout the night. Make sure to stop in and support our local bands and show off your best jig.
So raise your glass and toast to “A long life and a merry one, a cold beer and another one.”
