There’s no better way to wrap up summer than with a great blues event at Kenlake State Park August 22nd and 23rd. Besides providing great blues bands on a nightly basis you can also relax with the beautiful scenery as the bands perform at the parks amphitheater on the shores of Kentucky Lake.
The event opens Friday August 22nd at 6pm with Noah and the “Back Alley Blues.” Saturday August 23rd the festival tunes up the jams at 2pm with the band “Nightfish.” Advance tickets are $15 for Friday and $20 for Saturday or purchase a two day pass for $30 per person – kids 12 and under enter for free! Tickets at the gate (day of the events) are $20 for Friday, $25 for Saturday and $40 for both. Online Hot August Blues Festival tickets can be purchased from August 12th through the 21st.
On Thursday August 21st there will also be a “Neighborhood Night” providing free blues and rock music on the lawn of the lodge starting at 5pm – but donations are appreciated. For more information or to purchase your tickets for this popular regional blues event visit online www.hotaugustbluesfestival.com and you can also find them on Facebook at Hot August Blues Festival. Kenlake State Resort Park is just two short hours away from Cape and you can leave your blues behind as you enjoy great music in a picturesque setting! The 25th Annual Hot August Blues Festival at Kenlake is held rain or shine and concert goers are welcome to bring their own chairs and coolers (no glass allowed).
