We have all heard the phrase "the sky is the limit," but just how far does one have to go to get that far? The Bonne Terre Airport has proven that going to great lengths yields great results.
In is final stages of restoration, the transformation from a small shed and runway overtaken with weeds to a Fixed Base Operator facility with hangars, a cafe and coffee bar, ground school classes, a meeting area, and more has made the airport a sight to see. And they can't wait to show it off!
On September 7 from 10am-10pm, join them as they host the Bonne Terre Aire Festival, complete with airplane rides, helicopter rides, arts & crafts, food vendors, model airplanes, live music by Tumbleweed, and a balloon glow featuring three hot air balloons.
Arts and crafts vendors will be setup all day, and the model airplanes will be available for viewing all day as well. The model airplanes will also perform a few shows throughout the day. Airplane and helicopter rides will be offered until 5pm and require an additional fee. Tumbleweed will perform 5-7pm, and again 8-10pm. The balloon glow will take place at 7:15.
Please note that parking is at a separate location from the airport with shuttle service offering transport between the parking lot and the airport. Parking is available at the airport on a limited basis only for those who are not physically able to take the shuttle.
