Opening Soon in Cape Girardeau is Cateye Glasses Studio by Artist Rosetta Whitten. Rosetta is a mother, grandmother, and a recent graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture. Rosetta is a lifelong artist, over the years has owned, and operated studios offering classes to youth of Southeast Missouri.
Rosetta says, “Children love art and need every opportunity to explore it. Its benefits are proven---research has shown that students who participate in the arts perform better in other areas of learning. I believe there is room for more creative outlets for children and adults in any community! Art is fun, relaxing, challenging, and rewarding! I like the idea that children can come to my studio, a place where they can create and be offered more time to do so, be in an environment of a working artist and gallery, and not be concerned with obtaining a grade.
With her ideas, her passion for art, and probably some huge inspiration from her children and grandchildren Rosetta got to work on Cateye Glasses Studio.”
Cateye Glasses Studio has a series of events planned for all ages, but many of the events focus on the youth. Giving the young artist a location in Cape Girardeau to learn, practice, and enjoy art. The studio features after school classes, Make-It Take-It classes, parents' night out, day sessions, birthday parties, and Art A-La-Carte at your location!
Cateye Glasses Studio invites the public out for their Open House on Sunday October 7 from 1pm until 4pm. The Studio will once again be open to the public on the First Friday of November, for a public art show of local artist and art created by children. Rosetta believes it is important for the children to get an opportunity to experience a real gallery exhibition.
Cateye Glasses Studio is located at 401 N Clark Street in Cape Girardeau, for more details you can find them on Facebookor contact Rosetta by phone at 573-380-8464. She is looking forward to meeting all the young artist in the Southeast Missouri area and giving them a place to express themselves.
