Helping Animals This Winter

When it gets this cold outside it’s important to remember stray animals that might be wandering with no warm place to stay. Girl Scout Troop #70070 in Fruitland addressed the problem by making cat houses out of foam coolers. Decorated with colorful tape and markers, the girls gave the houses away at the Humane Society for anyone who wanted to help out a stray. Leaving the homes outside gives animals a safe place to sleep and ride out the cold weather. They remind everyone to make sure all animals - pets or strays - stay safe this winter by putting out unfrozen water, extra food, and dry bedding. Also remember to check the car for cats in the morning, and don't forget seed for the birds.
