CodeRed Emergency Notification in Farmington

Farmington is taking its city’s safety to the next level with a recent installment of the CodeRed Emergency Notification System, an automated program that can send out mass texts, emails, and phone calls to keep residents notified of any emergencies or important news. The program can be used for water boil notifications, or to warn residents of street parking during a snow plow, even spread the word about a missing child. Weather is also an important issue, and with CodeRed they have the ability to alert the community to tornadoes or floods. Dan Duncan, emergency management director and Farmington Police communication supervisor, said that the city can telephone the entire city or a targeted areas in just a matter of minutes and give a prerecorded message about what ever situation is happening at that moment.

Those who wish to sign up for CodeRed and/or CodeRed Weather can visit the city’s web site at, or call the police station at 573-756-6686.
