Business Building Workshop Coming to Cape Girardeau

Old Town Cape is excited to announce that Margie Johnson, entrepreneur and business specialist, is coming to Downtown Cape Girardeau to deliver a business-building workshop on Wednesday, April 29, at 6:30pm, inside the former Federal Building (339 Broadway). We have fantastic businesses downtown and across the community, but there is always room for growth and retailers must adapt to the ever-changing business environment in order to stay competitive.
Margie has more than thirty years of experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner. She’s been in the shoes of a small business owner and knows the day-today challenges faced in that industry, as well as the personal satisfaction this way of life delivers. Her goal is to help others develop the competitive edge that’s necessary to thrive in today’s business environment.
‘We’re extremely excited about bringing Margie to Cape Girardeau,’ commented Marla Mills, Old Town Cape Executive Director. ‘Her advice is built from a platform of immense experience and up-to-date knowledge of the business environment. We feel these insights will truly be beneficial to area business owners and can be another step for these entities in becoming a competitive force in the retail landscape.’
Presentation topics at the April 29th workshop include ‘Retail Realities and Trends’, which reviews key factors shaping the retail landscape, trends that are affecting businesses everywhere as well as trends in consumer buying habits, the ‘E-Gap’, and more. ‘Visual Magic on Main’ will delve into the world of visual merchandising and how this correlates to marketing and selling strategies.
This workshop is free for business owners located within the boundaries of the downtown district (West End Blvd to Water Street). A $25 registration fee applies to all other business owners and entrepreneurs from around the area who are also welcome to attend. Pre-registration is required by visiting the following website:
