Memorial garden in honor of the Taylor Twins

Lots of people are also asking what’s happening on the lot at the intersection of West Main and Missouri next to the Frizel-Welling historical old house. It is a “pocket park” being funded by Steve Ford, owner of the property and the Frizel-Welling house. It is a memorial garden in honor of the Taylor Twins, Steve’s mother Lucille and her twin sister Louise.

Ford’s grandfather had a business, which was later torn down, on the lot where the park is located. Cassi Holcomb of Cassi Bock Landscaping dug up stones from the foundation of the building in which the business was located and used them to fashion the stone path through the park and as a base for the benches. Cassi also planted numerous native plants that should bloom this spring. There will be a formal dedication of the Taylor Twins Memorial Garden as part of the Jackson in Bloom event sponsored by the Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization in late April.
