Yoga East opens two levels of yoga teacher trainings for 2018-2019

Yoga East Healing Arts Studio, 827 Broadway, Cape Girardeau, is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training programs. Yoga East Healing Arts Studio is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School. Both its teacher training programs are fully accredited by Yoga Alliance, and the programs serve the region, drawing students from southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky.

200-hour yoga teacher training provides the basics of teaching methodology, anatomy, principles of yoga, and practices of yoga in a welcoming and accepting learning environment.Yoga East’s yoga teacher training program blends the ancient philosophy and science of yoga with the contemporary art of teaching yoga as a transformational practice of self-care to enhance health and wellness. Training is limited to a maximum number of 12 students per year to provide comprehensive and individualized instruction. More than 40 students have completed this program to date, and graduates enjoy thriving teaching careers working in schools, senior centers, community recreation centers, studios, and health clubs.

For yoga teachers who already hold a 200-hour teaching certificate through Yoga Alliance, Yoga East Healing Arts Studio is launching a new300-hour advanced yoga teacher training (AYTT), beginning this fall. The curriculum will focus on anatomy, physiology, working with postural imbalances, and working with special populations (such as those with cancer and neurological dysfunction), as well as subtle anatomy and chakra work. Program electives include various meditation disciplines (scientifically proven to be beneficial for health and wellness), yoga nidra, prenatal yoga, and Ayurveda, among others. Yoga East invites all those interested in deepening existing yoga practices and/or their teaching to join our staff for this training that balances the  physical and the spiritual on the journey to wellness. A maximum number of 12 students will be accepted. The 300-hour program begins in August 2018.
