Testing & Hotlines for Coronavirus

Now that the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center has reported the county’s first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 the following resources are more important than ever.

Per the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center, tests are being processed through private labs and the Missouri State Public Health Lab. There are criteria that have to be met for an individual to be tested for COVID-19.

If you are experiencing fever, cough, or shortness of breath and think you may need to be tested for the Coronavirus, please call your local provider before seeking medical care. **Testing is NOT routinely done at our facility.

We receive updates from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and private labs on tests that are positive. Tested individuals are instructed to self-quarantine until results are received. We are working very closely with both hospitals and community partners to ensure the safety of our community.

Cape Girardeau County Health Center was notified by a commercial laboratory in Cape Girardeau County on Monday, March 23 that a 60 year old male tested positive for COVID-19, the coronavirus.
