WSIU Invites Families to Curiosity Day at Cedarhurst



Carbondale, Ill. -- WSIU Public Broadcasting, the public media arm of Southern Illinois University, and Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, with support from sponsors SIU Credit Union and Modern Woodmen of America, invite area families to celebrate curiosity and explore art, science, and the outdoors at Curiosity Day at Cedarhurst.

This fun-filled, family event is free and open to the public, and will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 1-4pm at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, 2600 Richview Road in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Kids and families will enjoy photo opportunities with PBS KIDS costume characters Curious George and the Man With the Yellow Hat, outdoor painting, making and flying kites, music and sound sculptures in the Sculpture Garden, planting seeds, making Curious George masks, building with Citi Blocks, watching Curious George videos, reading Curious George and other PBS KIDS books, the children's art exhibit Art Rocks!, located in the Mitchell Museum Family Center, and more.

All families will receive a free book after completing an event survey and will receive WSIU giveaways. Guests are asked to bring their own cameras and mobile devices to take photos. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
