Southeast Student Receives Scholarship from Cedric “The Entertainer”

Justin Robinson of St. Louis traveled to Chicago last week to personally meet comedian and actor Cedric “The Entertainer” Kyles after receiving a scholarship from Cedric’s charity foundation. Robinson is a student at Southeast Missouri State University. Cedric "The Entertainer" is an alumni of the same.

Most students have to take out loans to pay for their schooling, the $1000 scholarship has eased some of that burden, and is going toward Robinson’s current major in sport management. Not only did Robinson earn the scholarship, but he and his mother were flown to Chicago to appear on the Steve Harvey Show and meet Cedric himself.

“He’s just a cool, down to earth, funny person,” Robinson said.

Robinson is already making waves toward success. With plans to attend law school he is also the recipient of the University Scholarship, the Dr. Donald Suggs Scholarship and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Scholarship. He is the vice president of finance of the Southeast Student Alumni Association, treasurer of the Sport Management Society and a member of the Presidential Search Committee and the All-University Judicial Board. He is employed on campus in the Academic Support Centers through Academic Support Centers Mentoring Program/Student Support Services.

The program is scheduled to air at Dec. 12 on KDNL in St. Louis.
