Do the events of the holiday season have you all confused and overwhelmed? If you have looked at the calendars, you may be at a loss of how you can get to all of the Christmas events to have fun! Well here you have it…a breakdown of some of the Holly Jolly Christmas events so you don't have a Blue Christmas (sing it Elvis!) set to the tunes of the season! Broken down by category, there is also a timeline at the bottom. (If you need help getting in the spirit, click on the red links to listen to some Christmas favorites!)


Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

And you can catch him at these places:

    • West Park Mall Photos with Santa, Now Until Christmas Eve Come sit on Santa's lap and tell him all of your Christmas Wishes!
    • Santaland, Black River Coliseum, Poplar Bluff, December 7 Come prepared to share with Santa Claus everything on your list this year and get your picture made with him. Make treats, decorations and gifts to take home and share with your family. This event is open and free to children 12 and under.
    • Breakfast with Santa, Osage Center, Cape December 1

I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas

But contrary to the actual song, NOT only a hippopotamus will do! With so many children being denied the opportunity to receive gifts this holiday season, the community has several events to help those in need this season. May no child in the area have to say I'm Gettin' Nuttin' for Christmas!

For the little ones in your life, create memories that they can grow up with! Here are some things special for the little crumb crunchers to help celebrate The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

    • Merry Christmas to AllDecember 5 Come make Christmas cards for the elderly and others in nursing homes and care facilities in the area. The young'uns can give the gift of happiness this year!
    • The Cajun Night Before Christmas Party, December 15 Catch Santa in the Louisiana Bayou setting, and see what the chef is cookin'! This bayou themed-Christmas tradition story comes to life in a new light when children (ages 8-12) whip up a batch of home baked goodness.
    • The Case of the Christmas Cookie Mystery, December 1 Some cookies have gone missing and Mrs. Claus and her helpers must find out where they have gone! Led by Southeast Missouri State University students, the event ends in tasting some of Mrs. Claus's delicious cookies!
