Fall Festivals and Fairs - 2015


Stock image: creative commonsLeaves are changing, the wind is cooling, and everything is pumpkin-themed. Fall is in the air, the season of festivals and fairs. Our area is filled with small-town carnival delights where you can go on a hayride, get some kettle corn, and have a great time with the whole family. Follow the list below for all the fall festivals, harvest celebrations, and pumpkin patches you could want. This list is subject to updates as they become available, so check back often.


Missouri Festivals:


Fall Festival

Location: Hubble Creek 3184 N. High St., Jackson, MO

When: October 3, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Hubble Creek will hold a fall festival with free apple cider, hot dogs, candy, and snacks. There will also be a free masquerade party in the white house with prizes. Also, a group of students from Southeast Missouri State University will be participating in 'Rockin' 4 Relief' to raise money for families of police officers, firefighters, EMTS, and paramedics who were killed in the line of duty.


Location: Hayti Square, Hayti, MO

When: October 31, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Hayti, MO is throwing an all-day Halloween festival. Events include a Pumpkin Carving Contest, Trick or Trunk , Costume Contest, Zombie Contest, Movies on The Big Screen, Haunted Hayrides, and more. Perryville Pumpkin Farm

 Location: 1410 Allens Landing Road, Perryville, MO 63775 

When: September 7 - November 1, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Take a tractor-pulled wagon ride to our patch to pick your own pumpkins off the vine. Or, choose pre-picked pumpkins from our yard, crawl on and under the straw, walk through the corn maze, feed the goats, go pumpkin bowling, sling pumpkins, play our mini “farm” golf, decorate a pumpkin, milk the cow and more. Visit and experience all the fall colors, sights and sounds of harvest time on the farm.



Marquand Pioneer Days

Location: Marquand, MO

When: September 25 - 27

Pioneer Days is a fall festival that celebrates the history and community of Marquand, MO. See the parade, shop local vendors, take historic tours, and enjoy live music. It takes place 9/25 - 9/27. See the full schedule on their Facebook page. 


Fall Festival at the Conservation Nature Center

Location: Conservation Nature Center in Cape County Park North

When: October 17, 4 p.m.

Come on out for a fantastic fall festival. Learn more about Missouri's clean-up crew and how they help the community. Meet the magnificent Turkey vulture in a live bird presentation at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.  Take a stroll down the trail on one of the naturalist-led hikes to discover more about wild scavengers.  Sit outside, enjoy a fire and a few fall treats or come on in for crafts. It's free so bring the whole family for the fun!


Red House Fall Frolic

Location: Red House Interpretive Center, Cape Girardeau

When: October 3, Noon

This is a free event open to the public. Enjoy Pioneer games and dress up, crafts, animal furs, face painting, music, treat bags, and more!



Location: Diebold Orchard, 217 N. Outer Rd - Benton, MO 63736

When: October 10, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

This is a family-friendly event and the activities include: Family Hay Rides and Tours, Corn Maze, Apple Butter Making, Scarecrow Making Competition, Pumpkin Carving Competition, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chili, and Hot Apple Cider served.


 Harvest Day

Location: Begg's Orchard, Jackson, MO

When: October 3, 9 a.m.

Begg's Orchard in Jackson is an autumn tradition. Harvest day will have many vendors, crafts, delicious fall cuisine, wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, hay maze, petting zoo, and much more. This is a free and family-fun event. For more information, or to make group reservations call (573) 243-8008.


Butler County Fair

Location: Ray Clinton Park, Poplar Bluff, MO

When: September 16-19

The Butler County Fair has carnival rides, activities, a dog show, live music, and more. 




Fall into Art Festival

Location: North Court Square, Kennett, MO

When: September 12-13, 7 a.m.

The art festival has a variety of competitions, activities, live music, a film festival, and more. Find all the details on the website.


Fall Festival

Location: Walther’s Park, 47 Jefferson Square, De Soto, MO

Parkland Celtic Festival

Location: Downtown Park Hills, MO

When: September 25-26, 6 p.m.

The very first Park Hills Celtic Festival, featuring live music, food, dancing, unique vendors, and Celtic arts and crafts that celebrate Irish culture. Free and family friendly. Visit the website for more information.


Cotton Carnival

Location: Rodeo Grounds, 1308 N. Ingram Road Sikeston, MO

When: September 29 - October 3

Sikeston is "Cotton-Country"! Join the celebration with carnival rides, music, pageants, and a parade. Festival held at the Rodeo Grounds. Parade starts at 10 AM, October 3. Harvest Days

Location: St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway, 252 E Jackson Blvd, Jackson, MO

When: October 3, 1 p.m.

Wagon rides to the pumpkin patch. Roast marshmallows on the campfire and enjoy fun and games at the village. Third Annual Chili Cook-Off Train. The competition is fierce among our volunteers, and our passengers will decide who makes the best chili and will receive the Chili King Award.


Old Greenville Days

Location: Greenville Recreation Area, Greenville, MO

When: September 19, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Enjoy arts and crafts displays and demonstrations, funnel cakes, fried pies and Bar-B-Q, bluegrass and gospel music, old time children's games and much more. Admission is free.


Stoddard County Fair

Location: 500 Fairground Drive , Dexter, MO

When: September 22-26, 6 p.m.

The parade is Sept. 22 at 5:30 p.m. Visit the website for more information.


Bollinger County Fall Festival

Location: Twin City Park, Marble Hill, MO

When: September 24 and 25 at 7 p.m., September 26 at 9 a.m.

The Fall Festival goes all weekend: Sept. 24-26. The 24th is live music by Don Hester. The 25th is the The Gipson Gospel Group. Saturday, the 26th the parade starts at 9 a.m. Followed by a karaoke contest, and live music by Classy Chassy Country. There will be carnival rides, games, costumes, and more. Zell Fall Festival

Location: St. Joseph Parish 11824 Zell Rd, Ste Genevieve, MO

When: September 27, 11 a.m.

This all-day festival is free and open to all. They have a car show, antique tractors, karaoke contest, washer tournament, raffle, country store, basket raffle, bottle game, poker stand, tons of fair food like kettle corn, and lots of kids games, including a pumpkin carving contest. There is also a chicken and ham dinner with liver dumplings and trimmings. Click here for more info. 


Delta Fair

Location: Delta Fairgrounds 1601 1st St ., Kennett, MO

When: September 29 - October 3

Carnival rides, games, live music by Jaded, and a parade. Visit for details.


Madison County Fair

Location: Azaela Park, North Main Street , Fredericktown, MO

When: October 1-3

Craft vendors, food, booths, music, entertainment, livestock, and more.


Rocktober Fest

Location: Downtown Perryville, MO

When: October 2, 5 p.m.

After the Cruise In car show go to the main stage for a live music concert. Updates available here.



Location: Downtown Cape Girardeau, MO

When: October 2, 5 p.m.

Art galleries and downtown merchants will pass out candies to trick or treaters (and there may be a few treats for adults too!). Other activities include pumpkin decorating, a creepy photo-booth, costume contest, and a hayride up Broadway to enjoy the First Friday businesses there, as well as a delicious brew at the Broadway Biergarten.


Build Your Own Scarecrow

Location: Bollinger Mill, Burfordville, MO

When: October 3, 9a.m.

Did you know that the ancient Egyptians used scarecrows? Or that the boogeyman was originally a scarecrow? Learn these and other fun facts about scarecrows as you build your own to take home. Twine and straw provided. Please bring old clothing, accessories and a pillowcase for your scarecrow. This program is free and open to the public. Appropriate for all ages. Bernie Fall Festival

Location: Bernie City Park, Bernie, MO

When: October 3, 10 a.m.

Saxon Fall Festival

Location: Saxon Lutheran Memorial, 296 Saxon Memorial Drive, Frohna, MO

When: October 10, 9 a.m.

Step back in time with this 1840-themed fall festival. There will be food, live music, games, demonstrations, horse and buggy rides, and much more. Visit their website for all the details.


Uptown Jackson Oktoberfest

Location: Corner of Main and High St., Jackson, MO

When: October 10, 11 a.m.

Get your lederhosen and durndls brushed up. Oktoberfest is calling! This year's event will be loads of fun for the whole family. Live music, a firetruck parade and firefighters' games, authentic food and beer in great variety, doggie dress-up parade, craft vendors and so much more! Check their Facebook page for updates.


Sikeston Jaycee Oktoberfest

Location: Rodeo Grounds, 1308 N. Ingram Road Sikeston, MO

When: October 10, 3 p.m.

Enjoy brautwurst, pretzels, and your favorite beverage at this family-oriented event.  Live music all day, face painting, pumpkin painting, and games.


Boo! Silliage

Location: Bolduc House, 125 South Main Street, Sainte Genevieve, MO

When: October 17, 10 a.m.

Help do bousilliage repair on the Louis Bolduc House, play zombie versus human games, eat s’mores, plant garlic, hunt for a loup garou (werewolf), and sing zombie karaoke.


Rombauer Fall Festival

Location: Rombauer GB Church, 119 Erb St, Poplar Bluff, MO

When: October 24, 8 a.m.

The GB Church is hosting a fall harvest celebration with lots of activities, including: Little Mr. Ms. Rombauer Contest (ages 2-5), Cutest Baby Contest, mystery bid boxes, car smash, best decorated scarecrow, door prizes, inflatables, face painting, meat shoot, silent auction, bake auction, quilt raffle, gun raffle, full kitchen with great food, and hay rides! Mountain Music Festival

Location: Iron County Courthouse, Arcadia Valley, MO

When: October 16-18

The Arcadia Valley Mountain Music Festival is three days of live music and fun. The parade is at 6 p.m., one of Missouri's longest running parade for 86 years. Visit the website for a full schedule.


Rural Heritage Days

Location: Creole House, Ste. Genevieve, MO

When: October 24, 10 a.m.

Spend a historic day re-living life in rural middle America circa 1850-1960. See Plowing & Tilling, Quilts and Lace, Early Farming, Games, Old-Fashioned Treats, Wood Carving, Leather Working, Blacksmithing and more! Fun for the whole family! Admission is $2 donation.


Deja Vu Spirit Reunion

Location: Memorial Cemetery, 5th & Merchant Sts, Ste. Genevieve, MO

When: October 24, 5:30 p.m.

Would you like to hear the story of a US Senator who has been buried three different times? A Civil War colonel who died at the battle of Shiloh? Meet up with a modern day spirit of Missouri’s first US Representative? Or one portraying the well-to-do or the not so well- to-do from Ste. Genevieve’s history before 1880? Visitors will experience these stories and more as the Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve hosts its annual “Déjà vu Spirit Reunion” on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 5:30pm- 8:00pm in historic Memorial Cemetery. The cemetery, established in 1787, includes the tombs and grave markers of the area’s earliest French Pioneers, other European emigrants, African American slaves and freemen, Native Americans and a mass grave for victims of a steamboat explosion. The family friendly living history program provides visitors with an intimate look into the lifestyles and happenings in Missouri’s oldest town during the late 18th and 19th centuries. Tour the cemetery via lantern light and chat “face to face” with spirits clad in traditional dress and enjoy a hauntingly good time.


Daydreams and Nightmares Mardi Gras Celebration

Location: Pinckneyville, MO

When: October 31, 9 a.m.

This unique Mardi Gras festival takes place on the last Saturday of October, so this year's theme is a little more Halloween-y. There will be a car show, pageant, costume parade, trick or treating, live music, and more. The parade starts at 7 p.m. on the corner of of West Parker and South Mill Street with a fireworks display.  Go to their website for all information and locations.


Fall Festival

Location: Iron Mountain Market, 400 S Main St, Poplar Bluff, MO

When: October 31, 9 a.m.

This year is the return of the Grilled Cheese Cook-Off, and Costume Contest! There will be several new items in the works to add to the fun, as well as the traditional vendors, crafts, baked goods, fall produce, food, representative booths, entertainment, and more! Illinois Festivals:

 Benton Fall Festival

Location: Heritage Woods 1305 Bailey Lane, Benton, IL

When: October 8, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

This festival is free and open to the public with food, games, prizes, live music by Ronny Lee, and a costume contest.


Haunted Hollow

Location: Touch of Nature Environmental Center, 1206 Touch Of Nature Rd, Makanda, IL

When: November 1, 1 p.m.

The 7th annual Haunted Hollow provides a perfect Halloween atmosphere for families. Touch of Nature gives you a balance of laughs and gasps that make for an exciting, yet safe environment. On Sunday, November 1st, you and your loved ones can enjoy a hayride throughout the scenic Touch of Nature roads where you may be greeted by wilderness dwellers and creatures. There will also be nature hikes through the fall forest, creepy crawlers for you to hold, and games for the kids to enjoy.


Shrimp Festival

Location: Main Street, Golconda, IL

When: September 19, 10 a.m.

A pirate-themed festival with a farmer's market, helicopter rides, inflatables, carriage rides, live music, and much more. Click here for more info.


Southern Illinois Irish Festival

Location: Varsity Center for the Arts, 418 S. Illinois Avenue., Carbondale, IL

When: October 2, 8 p.m.

Celebrate Irish culture with live music, activities, performers, and more. Visit their website for information.


Fall Festival

Location: Camp Ondessonk, 3760 Ondessonk Rd, Ozark, IL

When: October 17, 11 a.m.

Fall in Southern Illinois provides fantastic weather for afternoon outings. Camp Ondessonk will be providing free pony rides, climbing wall, hay rides, face painting, and hot apple cider around the bonfire. This event is open to the public and all programming is completely free! Camp Ondessonk Free Fall Festival is fun for the entire family.


Apple Festival 

Location: 110 South 14th St, Murphysboro, Illinois 62966

When: September 16-19

The Murphysboro Apple Festival is a local tradition. There are dozens of events, activities, food, music, and more. Visit the website for a complete schedule.


A Harvest of Memories

Location: Walker's Bluff, Carterville, IL

When: October 17, 1 p.m.

A small festival full of crafts, perfect for children. Visit The General Store for pumpkin painting, pumpkin putting, apple stamping, and other fun crafts and games.  


Fall Festival

Location: Downtown McLeansboro, IL

When: September 10 - 12

Carterville Free Fair

Location: Cannon Park, Carterville, IL

Fall Festival

Location: Baptist Children's Home, Carmi, IL

When: September 19, 10 a.m.

A fall festival full of exciting activities like horseback rides, inflatables, auto show, and free food and entertainment. Learn more on their website.


Vendor Fair at Marlow's Pumpkin Patch

Location: Marlow's Pumpkin Patch 14003 N Harmony Ln., Opdyke, Illinois

When: September 19, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Marlow's Pumpkin Patch will be opening for the fall season with a vendor fair. Enjoy barbeque, vendors, fall decorating, and other fun activities.



Spooktacular Fall Fun Weekend

Location: Cedar Lake Campground, 2090 Gilead Church Rd, Vienna, Illinois 62995

When: October 30 and 31 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Campers are invited out for a weekend of camping and Halloween fun. The cost is only $25 a night. There will be a campsite decorating contest, hayrides, outdoor movie, trick or treating, and more.




Location: Old Feed Store, Cobden, IL

When: October 10, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Cobden Community and Business Association (CCBA) will be celebrating Colorfest in Cobden on October 10th at The Old Feed Store! A family friendly event, festivities include children's face and pumpkin painting, hayrides, the Balloon Lady and Local Arts and Crafts vendors. Live music including Open mic pickin, Local favorites RognboB, Dakota Cummins and friends, and The Blackberry Blossoms will be from 12-4pm. Brats, hot dogs and ribbon fries will be served from 11-4pm. There will also be breaking the pinata at 3 p.m! Additional information can be found at
