Hey fall-lovers! With the cool air, and colors in the trees autumn is the best time of year to get out and have some fun. Our directory has a full listing of festivals, pumpkin patches, markets, and other great autumn activities to enjoy this 2016 season.



Southeast Missouri Region


Fall Festival
Saxony Lutheran Memorial - Frohna, MO
October 8
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This annual fall festival is a tribute to Missouri history. Demonstrations of 1800s life will be held throughout the day, along with German-themed meals, crafters and artisans, a performance of the Schnitzelbank skit, music, contests, period costumes, and more.


Uptown Jackson, MO

A harvest celebration with craft beers, German-style food, craft vendors, and live music.


Fall into Art Festival
North Court Square - Kennett, MO
September 10 & 11

Arts and crafts festival with live music, vendors, a lego creation contest, mini film festival, and more.


Perryville Pumpkin Farm
Perryville, MO
September 10 - October 31
9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Pumpkin farm with food stand, wagon rides, and fun activities.


Cotton Carnival
Downtown Sikeston
September 28 - October 1
5 p.m. - midnight (noon to midnight on Saturday)
This community tradition features a carnival complete with games, nightly entertainment, and lots of food.  A parade will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. down Malone Avenue.


Beggs Family Farm

Bollinger County Fall Festival

Marble Hill proudly presents their annual fall festival, full of carnival rides, vendors, food, games, and a parade!


Delta Fair

Pumpkin Patch Express

Pioneer Days
Marquand, MO

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Craft and food vendors, games, homemade ice cream, kiddie tractor pull, horseshoe and volleyball tournaments, car show, and music on the old bridge.


Butler County Fair
Ray Clinton Park - Poplar Bluff, MO
September 26 - October 1

This county fair host a variety of fun events like a parade, rodeo, carnival rides, and more.


Parkland Celtic Festival
Main Street - Park Hills, MO
September 16 - 18

Sun. 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Annual street fair with traditional Irish and Scottish dance and music, along with Celtic arts, crafts and food.


Fall Festival

Festival activities will include a petting zoo, beauty pageant, car show, arts and craft vendors, food vendors, wagon rides, youth fishing rodeo, catfish tournament, and much more.


Town Square - Perryville, MO

Noon - Midnight
Rocktoberfest is an evening of great local music, food, and fun. This year there will be performances by Isabella, Livin Tale, Cycle of Ruin, Eurydice, and more. Entry is free, and the event is open to all ages. 


Downtown Cape Girardeau, MO
October 7
5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Kick-off your Halloween month with haunted art offerings! There will be a costume contest, hayride, trick or treating, spooky stories, a photo booth, and more.


Fall Concert
Bollinger Mill Historic Site - Burfordville, MO
September 18
3 p.m.
Fall performance by the Leevon DeCourley Band. Enjoy refreshments, and bring a chair for seating.


Fall Cemetery Walk
Bollinger Mill Historic Site - Burfordville, MO
September 24
9 a.m.
If the dead could talk, what would they have to say? Find out by taking a journey back in time to the Bollinger family cemetery. Get a glimpse into the lives of Bollinger family members buried there, through family letters and other documents. Nineteenth century burial traditions will also be discussed. Meet your guide on the mill porch. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear. This program is free. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, please call 573-243-4591.


Build Your Own Scarecrow
Bollinger Mill Historic Site - Burfordville, MO

9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Learn fun facts about scarecrows as you build your own to take home. Twine and straw provided. Please bring old overalls, shirts, accessories and a pillow case for your scarecrow. This program is free. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, please call 573- 243-4591.


Halloween Storytelling
Bollinger Mill Historic Site - Burfordville, MO
October 14
7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Professional storyteller Marilyn Kinsella will tell ghost stories for Halloween. Bring a chair for seating. Refreshments provided. This event is free.


Boo! Silliage
Bolduc House - Ste. Genevieve, MO
October 15
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Standard admission gets you access to this all-day event at the Bolduc House Museum. The day’s activities will include: a child’s Loup Garou Hunt, making s’mores, helping the New Bourbon Militia partrol on a hunt for Loup Garous and Witch Fingers, campfire stories, and a film.


Rural Heritage Festival
Downtown Sainte Genevieve, MO
October 22
8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
A fall festival full of nostalgia, shopping, and exhibits. Patrons can see historic demonstrations, take a carriage ride, enjoy live music, and much more. This event is free, though donations are appreciated. Hours and locations vary.


Déjà Vu Spirit Reunion
Memorial Cemetery -  Sainte Genevieve, MO
October 22
5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Come to the cemetery - established in 1787 - to hear real ghost stories of the famous deceased in Ste. Genevieve. $7 tickets. Children ages 6-18 are $3, and children 5 and under are free. For more information call 573-883-7097.


Fall Festival

Fall Craft Fair
Factory Outlet Mall - Sikeston, MO

Noon - 4 p.m.
A fall celebration of style and hand-made goodies right on the sidewalk at Sikeston Outlet Stores! Local vendors will be selling handmade items and crafts. There will also be a food truck, and sidewalk sales.


Harvest Market
Little River Farms - Fredericktown, MO
October 15
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Little River Farms will open its doors with a fall market. Local vendors will offer hand-crafted and vintage goods, and locally made foods. There will also be music, a pumpkin patch, and farm animals to meet.

Old Greenville Days
Recreation Area - Greenville, MO
September 17 & 18
8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
This two-day event will feature live blue grass bands, living history encampments, and over 50 crafters and vendors! A bike parade will be taking place on Saturday at 9 a.m. For more information please contact the Wappapello Lake Management Office at (573) 222-8562.

Oktoberfest celebration featuring an antique car show, craft and food vendors, bounce house, pumpkin decorating (bring your own supplies), build your own scarecrow, and prizes.


East Perry Community Fair

'The Best Little Fair in the Land.' Parade, carnival rides, livestock shows, and more. 


 Knowlan Family Farm

A you-pick apple orchard and family farm, newly open in Burdfordville, MO. Come pick apples, enjoy the pumpkin patch, and shop locally grown products.

West City Festival
Community Center - West City, IL

Noon - 10 p.m.
This festival has barbecue, bouncy houses, a tractor show, hay rides, a golf cart course, lazer tag, a petting zoo, and other fun activities.


Haunted Hollow
Touch of Nature Environmental Center - Makanda, IL
November 6
1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
There will be interpretive nature walks, a costume parade, pumpkin decorating and family games for children of all ages.
Participants will also learn about and have the chance to hold snakes, lizards and other “creepy crawlers.” Everything is family friendly and suitable for all ages. Touch of Nature is wheelchair and stroller-accessible. A parent or guardian must accompany children to the event.


Irish Festival

Apple Festival

‘A Harvest of History’ is this year’s theme for the Apple Festival! Kick things off with the parade, then enjoy contests, apple-themed food, live music, and much more.


Carterville Free Fair
Cannon Park Midway - Carterville, IL
September 8 -10
The 103rd annual Carterville Free Fair will include a Twilight 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Carterville Chamber of Commerce. Sponsored by the Carterville Lions Club, the fair will be Sept. 8 through Sept. 10 at Cannon Park Midway off Greenbriar Road. The event offers carnival rides, games, free entertainment, food, and more. The annual free fair parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.


Union County Colorfest
Various Locations - Southern Illinois

The Annual Colorfest takes place in several cities in Southern Illinois. Go to the kids fest in Anna City Park, pick a pumpkin at Rendleman Orchards, or visit the Union County Historical Museum.


Fall Festival
Village of Vergennes, IL
October 1
11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The Village of Vergennes is having a fall festival! There will be multiple vendors selling arts, crafts, and more. Food will be available for purchase, live music will be performed, there will be a chili cook-off, and plenty of games for kids like bounce houses and pumpkin painting. An all-day game pass is only $2, and vendors may rent a table for $10. For any questions contact Trish at 618-684-2250.


Pickin’ at the Patch
Rendleman Orchards - Alto Pass, IL

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Pickin' at the Patch is a Fall Market Day on this centennial family farm! There will be creative vendors of Vintage, Primitives, Rust & Junk, Antique, and Handmade items! Big Blue's Que, shopping, along with fresh-picked apples, apple cider donuts, and cider slushes will make for a great fall junkin' atmosphere around the pumpkin patch! There will be an outdoor photo booth in the patch to help you remember Fall Market Day! $1 Admission collected to help support Bald Knob Cross.

Crab Orchard Fall Market
Crab Orchard High School - Marion, IL

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Crab Orchard Fall Market will be a mostly indoor market with talented vendors who specialize in creating unique items, collecting, repurposing the old, and selling their products. Some of the categories that will be available are: Handmade, Antiques, Repurposed, Furniture, Primitive, Salvage, Chalk Paint, Clothing, Jewelry, and Food!


Fall Festival
Camp Ondessonk - Ozark, IL

11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Camp Ondessonk will be providing free pony rides, climbing wall, hay rides, face painting, and hot apple cider around the bonfire. This event is open to the public and all programming is completely free!


Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race
The Mill Street Underpass - Carbondale, IL
October 29
1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
The Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race is a chance to have fun and raise money for a local charity by designing, building, and racing your very own Pumpkin Racer! Build the fastest racer you can, or go nuts with the most original design you can think of! There is a $100 grand prize, but most people just race for the fun of it.



 Millstadt Fun Farm

Sunday-Thursday: 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Friday & Saturday: 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Millstadt Fun Farm is having its grand opening celebration on September 9. There will be Pig Races, Pumpkin Cannon Show, Jumping Pillow, 70-ft Underground Slide, petting zoo, and more. 

The farm will be open the rest of the season offering haunted hayrides on the weekends, apple and pumpkin picking, and more.


 St. Mary Pumpkin Patch

Every Saturday in October. 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Pick your own pumpkin, work your way through the corn maze, enjoy concessions, and more.
