Outdoor Dining

As summer quickly approaches, it is perfect weather to dine as the Italians say, al fresco, or in the open air. We are lucky to have so many choices for great food in the Cape area! Here is a rundown of popular local spots:

Baristas Coffee Bar, located in the lobby of the Marquette Tower, has outdoor seating that is fantastic for a quick bite on your lunch hour, or a lazy Sunday of people watching over handcrafted coffee or Bloody Marys.

Bella Italia has outdoor cafe seating under a covered roof. It is open for lunch and dinner all week making it an excellent place to cozy up on a date, or to sip a drink and people watch.  Dinner favorites include the Pollo Di Gouda with a homemade smoked Gouda cream sauce, and the Chicken Saltimbocca served over a mushroom marsala risotto.  The lunch menu includes classic sandwiches and paninis - you can never go wrong with the Italian Meatball Sandwich! View the menu here:

Cup n Cork has a beautiful courtyard affectionately called the "Coffee Grounds."  It is a perfect place to enjoy a beverage while taking in the sounds of a local musician, or a Saturday night movie.

El Sol's patio is tucked into the side of the building, but it still offers ample room to enjoy a margarita and that oh so fresh table side homemade guacamole.

Katy O'Ferrell's Publick House has a small but mighty outdoor dining area that fills up fast on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Daily drink specials range from Irish ciders, various whiskeys, and draught beer.  Favorites here include the Cheddar Guinness Cheese Dip, Fish N' Chips, the Dirn Burger and the flavorful  14-ounce ribeye.  Check out the full menu including late night favorites here:

Keller's in the Isle Casino has a gorgeous view of the Mississippi river. Small plates, weekend music, and a carefully crafted ambiance make Keller's rooftop dining at its finest.  The restaurant is open Thursday- Sunday evenings with a menu that offers a changing selection of regional favorites from nachos to burgers to fried green tomatoes.  Find more info here:

Library's Playground is open in the evenings and known for fresh burgers, salads, and of course those Bel Air Potatoes. The Scotch Eggs made famous at The Library Bar are served here as well!

Minglewood Brewery's patio is a charming addition to the downtown dining options. Minglewood is intensely focused on brewing craft beer and offers small batch releases and seasonal brews in addition to the year-round selections. Menu offerings include sandwiches and appetizers such as sliders, pretzel sticks, and bruschetta. But the artisan pizza is a must try! The brewer's grain from the mashing process is added to the fresh pizza dough giving it a unique flavor that further cements the pairing of beer and pizza.  The Sausage Goat Cheese pizza is a crowd pleaser! Muy Bueno has a fabulous wrap around deck that is perfect for enjoying the signature house made chips and salsa or a heaping portion of steak nachos.

Pilot House has a secret outdoor dining area, known only to regulars. Although it does not top the list of glamorous outdoor dining, it does offer a shaded picnic area where you can enjoy some of the best barbecue in town.
