River Campus Announces Free Shuttle Service During 2018 Summer Arts Festival

Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus has announced that a free River Campus Summer Arts Festival Shuttle will transport visitors to the festival from locations throughout downtown Cape Girardeau on June 16.

The shuttle service is sponsored by the University and the Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau, and represents the festival’s continuing commitment to community outreach, said Rhonda Weller-Stilson, director of the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts and associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

“Each year, the one-day festival guest numbers grow and exceed our goals, from the first year of around 1,000 people attending to last year’s number swelling to more than 3,500,” Stilson said. “The community has continued to embrace the River Campus Summer Arts Festival and our summer productions, and we are thrilled to provide this free service in support of our festival enthusiasts, families and art lovers.”

The shuttle service will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will pick up and transport visitors every half hour from the following locations: Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, Normal Avenue and Pacific in front of Grauel Building, Broadway and Pacific, 612 Broadway in front of Catapult Creative House, Broadway and Lorimier near the Rust Center for Media at 325 Broadway, Spanish Street and Themis Street in front of the Common Pleas Courthouse, and Southeast’s River Campus.
