51st Anniversary of the Charleston, Missouri Dogwood-Azalea Festival

Beneath a canopy of pink and white dogwoods entwined with manicured lawns and flowerbeds of azaleas, jonquils, and knockout roses lies a magical journey waiting to be discovered each year during Dogwood-Azalea Festival in Charleston; Charleston, Missouri that is.

Southeast Missouri’s premier Springtime event, Charleston’s Dogwood-Azalea Festival, celebrates its 51st Anniversary this year. Recognized in both 2015 and 2016 as one of the top 5 Spring Flower Festivals in the USA by, the small Southeast Missouri town of approximately 5900 residents welcomes an estimated 35,000 guests annually with unparalleled southern charm and the warmest hospitality.

While dogwoods and azaleas are surely the stars of the show, there is plenty to see and do during the festival for all ages.
With events ranging from a 5K race to an arts and crafts fair with over 100 vendor spaces, from a tongue – in – cheek dog show to tours of historic homes, and a carnival to a horsedrawn buggy ride, there are many activities for visitors all ages to enjoy.
